Student Work

Robert Hulse produced a seat made from beer barrels

Rob, an A2 student from Ysgol Dinas Bran, was at the DATA conference last year, when his bar stool made largely from re-used and recycled car parts was on display.

Rob has continued this theme into his A2 work, but on this occasion has taken the theme even closer to pubs. His design of a seat made predominantly from beer barrels again combines sustainability principles with a stylish product.

As in many projects, it is often hard to follow entirely sustainable principles throughout manufacture. However, Rob has been aware of the issues throughout and has maintained his concern to reduce material and energy usage to a minimum.

We are delighted to see him back again with another product showing what can be done with a creative and determined approach to re-use and recycling.
